Stella's tummy

As you may or may not know, Stella had a real upset tummy a couple of weeks ago. We had x-rays and blood work done to rule out anything nasty. She had a lot of gas in there and a little inflamation, but nothing else. She got a shot for the nausea and some antibiotics/anti-inflamatories for a few days.

Fast forward to yesterday, and her tummy seems tender again. No throwing up but a little "liquid poo". I confess to giving her some cheese and bacon on Sunday while I was making a quiche (just a tiny bit). So, I will quit with all extra fun treats. I have also been giving her some pumpkin to try to firm up her stool (it was mushy, not liquidy though).

I get a feeling she's still quite gassy. I have some pepsid that I can give her but isn't that more for acid? What about gas, is there anything I can give her to help with that?

Thanks, everyone!

What are you feeding her?

I went through this with mine a couple of months ago. It took me awhile to figure out the sack of dog food was bad. They started having problems when I opened up a new bag.

Celine, you can give her a Gas Ex...

I give it to my guys if they are gassy.

Celine, I agree with Pat.

Yogurt is a wonderful tummy helper. I give my dogs a tablespoon in each meal daily. That keeps them nice and regular, and not stinky:-) It might help your girl. I use plain, fat free yogurt from Wal Mart.

sounds like she needs a bit of yogurt...

it really helps the stomach in dogs and the gas too
I give a tablespoon on the meal..
just the regular type..no flavour..
it works great

good morning Celine

when lily had a tender tummy and loose poop, my vet said to give her 1 tablespoon of pepto bismol, you can also try to give her bran buds, they work both ways, will loosen her up or firm her up. hope Stella feels better soon.

Her usual prescription food

And we are about a day from the bottom of the bag. Maybe it wasn't overly fresh...

I'll go ahead and buy a new bag tonight and maybe that will make a difference.
