Stella hasn't eaten

Since last night's dinner.
She is otherwise normal.
Her gums look a little pale, but are still pink.
she will not drink.
I offered her cheese, and she refused it.
I had to force this morning's antibiotics down her throat when she normally will eat it in some cheese in one gulp.

I am trying not to panic, as the side effects of the antibiotics are being more tired.
But any thoughts?

Thank you

I always give ab's with food

And sometimes I will give a pepcid about 20 minutes before I give the ab. Chief was always bad to get and upset tummy with ab's and this is what I did with him.

Maalox did it!

She just ate some cream cheese off my fingers.
The maalox must have calmed her tummy down.
So after the cream cheese, she ate some of her food and had some water.
I am so relieved.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

On my way out to buy a thermometer.

my suggestion.....

forget the antibotic tonight....do you have some chicken soup around??? warm her up some broth....no food tonight...no more probitics or diary products while on antibotics...these can cause gastric upset....you might want to try some toast...my guys love toast...it soaks up tummy acid....
in the am a little food...i would even go bland like chicken and rice.....wait 30 min then give the antibotic.....
but for tonight plenty of liquids....baby food is good to...i always keep a couple of jars around... and they liked it warm....
just let her rest.....

I always give it to her in cheese

and she won't even eat cheese today, or her food.
I just hand fed her some water, and she took it off my finger tips. But she wouldn't eat anything.
I just gave her some maalox, hopefully that helps her tummy settle down.

try putting....

the pills in cream cheese....first give her a bite of plain cream cheese so she will eat it first....I don't like to give them ATB on empty tummy as some will cause them to get sick. Try adding to her regular dog food if she isn't eating it....mine seem to like the frozen Bil Jac added.

she is on antibiotics for staph

she had a few spots that weren't clearing up.
She is taking some acidopholus, omegas and benedryl.
she hasn't had any water today at all. or food.

why is she on antibotics?

when you are checking the gums....press your finger into the gum then release it should refill in less than 3 seconds....your checking for intern bleeding....
many antibotics put dogs off their food.....try to feed first then give the pill....also i alway use tums in case of a sour tummy.....even i have to take a tums when on antibotics....
also if your using any supplements you may want to cut back...or consult your vet about them....
some antibotics cause constipation...has she pooped today? is she drinking plenty of water....a little pediylte would maybe help....
just a few thoughts....

I have to run out and get a thermometer, I dont' own one NM
