snorting/sniffing in loudly??

Our 1.5 year old bulldog has recently started "snorting", as humans would do when they have a lot of junk in their noses and they're snorting it in. I'm having a hard time explaining it -- but it sounds like the noise a pig would make. He'll do it several times in a row and I notice he does it most in the morning. What is this, and what can I do? Anything? Thanks in advance for any help!

yea that what it is for sure

a reversed sneeze.
I think that most breed of dogs do have them.
seem them in my bullies here too

Sounds like a

Reverse sneeze. First time Q did this, I almost had a heart attack.
Rubbing the nose rope can help. Or, you can blow in the nostrils (gently) or actually occlude the nostrils with your finger for a few seconds so that the dog swallows.
Supposedly, they're caused by something getting stuck on that little piece of flesh that hangs down in the back of the throat, and the dog is trying to dislodge it. Maybe dust, tree pollen, etc?

Thank you! I looked on YouTube for videos of reverse sneezing, and sure enough that's what it is. Thanks again!
