We just got the results back from the skin punches they did and they said he has an underlying mite that is killing off the hair follicles, causing the skin irritation which is the end he ends up with a staph infection. The staph is not contagious to us and neither is the mite. Our Winston is starting a treatment next week that they are optimistic will take care of the issue.
But Winston has spots that look exactly like your dogs.

It will be a few days before I can get him to the VET, if it's Staph, my wife is concerned about poeple getting it... Can they and is there anything I can do until then...

Our Winston has the same thing and we have had him in a few times and he has had Staph 2 times. They just took skin punches to try and figure out what is going on. Hope this helps

Q used to get staph infections...
I'm not sure if it can be transmitted to people - I never had a problem.
I washed the areas thoroughly with original Listerine twice a day.

This type of staph is not something to worry about a human catch
The type to worry about would be MRSA. A few days should not matter too much but does need to be seen by a Vet.

It might be staph
Needs to be checked by Vet.
