Skin Irritation

Hello, my female Bully is 6 months old and I have noticed that she is starting to lose fur (which I found strange since the weather is getting colder and we are heading into winter). She also has been chewing at her front paws at times and is getting what looks like pimples on her belly and inner thighs. She also has a black tar like substance around her nipples, vagina, and her belly. I don't know what could be the problem, but I really want to help her and get her better.

If anyone knows what this could be I would be very gratefull for any advice.

Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Skin Irritation

Sounds like she has a bacterial infection of some kind going on, perhaps yeast, or even a staph infection. She probably needs to be seen to be sure and may need some sort of antibiotics to clear it up. You can also bathe in a medicated shampoo, that will help as well. I have dealt with many skin infections over the years and usually a short course of antibiotics will clear it up. May be worth a vet visit so it does not get out of hand. This time of the year can be as bad as spring time with regards to allergies in dogs. The weather is changing and leaves are falling and there is lots of pollens around in the air.
