I've been around the boards here long enough now to have seen how amazing your knowledge about these animals truly is, and also how much you seem to care about them. When someone has an issue or a concern and they post it here, you are solidly and dependably there every time.
Kudos to you for that! Surely everyone that has benefitted from your experience and advice appreciates it..I know that I have!
Anyways, my request is, would you mind sharing a little bit about yourself? About how bulldogs and BDW became part of your life? I'm sure that I can't be the only one that is curious about how you got to be so "smart"
Thanks, if you choose to share.
Have a great day, and don't forget to kiss someone you love!

Thank you for sharing.
I'm sorry I missed your post to Pat, I will have to go and have a look for it.
As far as the "praise" goes, it feels more like calling it as I see it, but you're welcome!
You are far more than "useful" here, I would say your experience, availability, and temperament make you an integral part of this place, so...
...thanks!
Have a great day, and don't forget to kiss someone you love!

Re: OK
Thanks Ela1ne! I always enjoy your posts. I have owned 8 year old Spanky since July and have soooo much to learn. You are very generous to share your knowledge and experience.
OK
First off, David you are very generous in your praise. I know I recently answered Pat with a similar request. I have an undying love and respect for the specialness of The Bulldog. Hubby brought the first pup home about 35yrs ago when we were thinking of getting a family dog...I had always had cats previously, a few small birds, a lop-earred rabbit. Anyway, we really enjoyed Fang but I knew NOTHING about their special needs and we made some mistakes but they were honest ones, and when we lost him at about 4yrs old to heat stroke/heart failure from exertion after playing with my sons (10&11) we all cried so that we could hardly see where to shovel his gravesite. Next came my first female, and joined a local bulldog club, got a mentor (Betty Fisher of reknown K9 performance fame), bred her back to her lineage/show dog and kept a pup, who turned out to be my first obedience CD dog...and we kept going...always bulldogs, and up to four at one time but at staggered ages, with a few cats here and there. Some of my bullies loved the cats, some cats learned to avoid the dogs. LOL At the ripe old age of 50, I graduated Mesa College with a degree in Animal Health, took the CA licensing exam for RVT and worked for a couple vets, mostly and enjoyably at an ophthalmic specialty practice (the only one in San Diego county at that time) and I retired about 4yrs later when I realized that I couldn't physically lift many of these 75lb> dogs on the exam table, nor carry these anesthetized dog from the prep area to the surgery table. Getting old is what defeated me!! I've remained active in my local bulldog club, worked with rescue for about 15yrs and headed up the local program for about half of those, and I like feeling "useful" still. Bulldogsworld has a great reputation and audience and I'm pleased to be a small part of it.
And I will second that too!
I appreciate all the help!
you are very informative as well Pat!
I very much enjoy and look forward to your input and knowledge too!!! You seem like a very pleasant person with a big heart. I only hope to one day be as bully savvy as you all !! there are alot of smartys on this site!
Agree! Pat has been very generous in her help.
And isn't that what we're here for.
I will 4th that..

i am still a newbie to this site, but i must say i always look forward to elaines reponses! you are so smart, knowledgable, and informative!!! i would nominate her as bulldog person of the year !!!
I'll 2nd that..... Your advice is usually a voice
of reason mixed with clinical expertise. I always tried to monitor the medical page to see what I can learn and retain for future use. Thank you for sharing and caring about this wonderful Breed!!
