She is definitely putting on weight. I am going to start reducing her daily amount by 2 ounces. I'll take her to the vet to weigh her, but I can tell her waistline is getting thicker. Her coat is so beautiful! The color is richer and more red, and it's so soft and shiny still. I have read the ingredients so many times, but it finally dawned on me that there is kelp in it. I was looking into adding kelp for her coat, and for my older dogs arthritis, so now I know I don't need to add extra for Audrey. She doesn't poo twice a day everday anymore, I'd say she goes more like 10 times a week. ALways at least once a day, sometimes twice. Her face is about the same, maybe a little better under her nose rope. I don't think I am going to be able to stand much more of the stains and will try to use peroxide or something else on it. Still NO scratching though and NO smell! Her ears are also much cleaner and there is no smell in them either. I have added a vitamin C tablet in the am. Someone said to try tomato juice, but she has thrown up tomato sauce just about every time she's had it, so i don't know if she'll have the same reaction to tomato juice. Oh, that reminds me, she hasn't thrown up yellow foamy bile in the am since starting this either. I got enough lamb for one month, next time I get food for her I will get beef. One bag lasts 8 days, I think I will get 2 bags each time I go and will switch the proteins every 16 days. The lamb costs more than the beef, so I will save a few dollars. I am going to wait a bit to try chicken and turkey. I'd REALLY like for her face to clear up before I try poultry again.

(sigh) that's what I'm afraid of...
if we didn't have such sucess with Angel's Eyes it would probably be easier to accept. But we did have months of a beautiful clean face and it makes it that much harder to see it so dark.

the staining may not go away...
I know of lots of folks that have not been able to clear up the tear staining. My old guy had it on his feet really badly and there came a point where I didn't care what it looked like as long as medically there was nothing wrong

Angel Eyes
has Tylan (tylosin). That is what gets rid of the stain.
Cathy
You may want to try straight Tylan. Occasionally I use it on MacKenzie because he gets what I think are probably seasonal allergies and will get some tear stains. So...what I do is put him on Tylan for a couple of months until the stains are all gone and then I take him off the Tylan. I think over his 6 years I have maybe had him on Tylan 3 or 4 times. Once the stains are gone it lasts for months. If you hate the stains, which I do, you might want to give it a try. I put him on Tylan this spring for a couple of months (we have alot of pine polin) and he is still snowy white.

the Agel's Eyes is pretty much an everyday thing for three months, then you reduce it to 4 times a week for 3 months, then 2 times a week for forever. I will give it at least 6 weeks with the new food (it's been 2 weeks so far) then will re-consider the Angel's Eyes. I jusy washed her face a few minutes ago and she hates it so much I feel bad having to scrub it so frequently. I wish there was a long term study done on tylosin use so I know what the real risks are.

Where do you live?
I ask because after a couple of good freezes Cash's stains go away like magic During spring summer fall he's got pretty bad ones that only go away with antibiotics. Since you changed her food and she's doing so well you may want to try the angel eyes for the week or whatever it recommends on the bottle (get rid of the stains) and hope that the food change keeps them away
This is all so encouraging... keep up the reports.
Amazing
Even with feeding Josie Natural Balance she poops at least 3x a day. I feed her 2x a day, 1.5 cups in the am and 1 cup in the pm. no snacks in between. She pooped even more when she was eating Fish & Sweet Potato, a little less with Venison, and now this with the Chicken. I find it hard to believe that such a "quality food" produces so much poop. So that is my big concern with switching to raw, that her body will metabolize what she eats and therefore less waste, and a healthier dog. She goes to the vet this week for her next round of Atopica, we will see. thanks for the update. J & T
