Good evening! I received the probiotic I ordered for Tuffy (geneflora) and it says to give 1 scoop once a day but then underneath the dosage it says they strongly recommend doubling the recommended dose for the first two weeks when starting. My vet had advised me to start slow on a probiotic so now I'm confused. For those of you who started using a probiotic did you start slowly or give the full (or even double) the amount...? Also I give a teaspoon of yogurt with the kibble a couple times a day. Is a probiotic meant to replace that...?
Thanks!

I just started
the probiotics and mine didn't say to give a double dose to start...infact the person at the shop specifically said to not give more then is recommended.
No need to feed yogurt. I guess it would takes lots and lots of yogurt to get the amount necessary that you get in the probiotics.
Thanks, Cathy!
Appreciate the feedback.

I gave the double dose at first
because I abruptly switched my dog from kibble to raw and she had been throwing up the kibble for days. She never had a single gastro issue after the switch.
