Layla is totally potty trained. No accidents in the house ever ( she is 6 months old now ) BUT .... if I put her up on my bed she pees !! Why is she doing this ? Is there anything I can do to train this out of her ? I dont know if she's doing it to territorial ( although she is VERY NON territorial type of dog ) or what ? any advice appreciated . Thanks

Toby peed on my bed twice and on the couch once. He was marking. He wants to let me know that the bed and couch is his. So I never let him on my bed after that unless I invited him up. He is not to go on my bed without my permission. So far, he did not pee on my bed or couch.

you need to rule out a Urinary Tract Infection.
if there's no infection I suspect it to be behavioral. Onslow did this (never ever marked in the house, just the bed). I removed him from the bed for about 6 months and then allowed him another try. He's fine now, but I just couldn't let him up there as a puppy. Just our experience.

that face is priceless
what a cool looking puppy
yea maybe a puppy thing..
had it happen one time with Bella too..but just the once and that was it
I had it happen with the one pug too...but I removed him from the bed and tried again some other time an never happened again. for him it was a territorial thing for sure.
Oh that face!!!
what an absolute doll!
Abby did this too...
Abby did this a couple times too! and one other time she was sound asleep she sat up and then laid back down and she had pee'd ........ Not sure why she did it any of the times but she did. she will be a yr old on December 11th.. must be a bully puppy thing!

It could be territorial...Tiffy did that all the time on the fut
on the bed, on the couch, my heavens it was infuriating, and we took her out to potty at three to four hour intervals all the time.
Many people will tell you to check for bladder infections, and I'd say do that, too. For several years, we had to keep our Tiff off the couches, beds, futon, etc. because of her marking behavior...and she was spayed, too!
Audrey did it too
the first time I put her on my bed. I am sure it was territorial with her. I put her off the bed immediately, and she know I was NOT happy with her. I didn't try again for a month or so. She didn't do it again except for one time. I always take her out right before bed, and ONE time it was late and nasty out and she had just gone out 2 hours earlier so we just went to bed. She peed the second her paws hit the blanket. She knew again that I was really not happy about it, she is SO sensitive it was pitiful. But she hasn't done it since and I never skip the right before bed potty trip anymore.
