nu stock vs. goodwinol

does anyone have experience with which one one is better for treating demodex & the least messy? cooper has demodex on his cheek & if i put anything on it, he rubs it everywhere. is one less oily or greasy than the other? i also read that goodwinol can stain light surfaces- anyone know anything about that? i want to try one of these, but not sure which one. thanks for any advise!

You only need one tube.

Do you have a feed store or Tractor Supply near you? They almost always carry it. Sells for about 11 bucks a tube.

I actually think the paste would be better....

and you only should apply every three days. Crate time would be a good idea if you don't have a place with tile or linoleum for your pup to be while the stiff is on him. MTG is the liquid, I may have said MSG...I always goof that up:-) It is not really any better than the paste, it is just liquid of the same thing.

about how long do you usually need to

use it? i ask because the website sells a minimum of 2 12 oz tubes. i can get just 1 on ebay though. i was wondering if they make you buy 2 because usually they are needed? if i only need to put it on his cheek, do you think one 12 oz tube will be enough to last until it clears up? thanks!

thanks! so do you think

the liquid would be less messy for in the house? maybe it would be "absorbed" instead of the paste just staying on his cheek? i need to get something soon. thanks for your help!

Nu-Stock is specifically for the treatment of Demodex mange...

and all other skin type issues of mange or yeast infections, etc. I use it daily in my household....on my horses! It is a great med for both treating the mange and regrowth of hair. It is also good for wound care. It is a sulfur based paste, stinky, and yellow:-) It comes in a liquid form called MSG that smells teh same and pretty much does the same, but it is a liquid.

Good luck....

i also thought

that nu stock was just for hair regrowth. i read somewhere on the internet that it is used in the treatment of localized demodex. he just has one little spot & it is on his cheek, so there is no way to cover it that i can think of.

I've got no personal experience with nu-stock but I thought

it was mainly for regrowing hair, whereas I know the Goodwinol is for spot-treatment of demodex. Can you put a man's tee shirt on him after you apply the medication to reduce the likelihood of him rubbing the furniture?
