not trying to be redundant but...

I am learning things I never even considered about nutrition! Audrey has always had a yeasty-stinky face, right under her eyes in that deep wrinkle. She had terrible tear stains and I started using Angel's Eyes, which cleared up the tear stains and most of the smell. Her eyes still run constantly so her face is always wet, and if I don't wash it at least every other day it does smell, but still not that really strong smell it used to have. It can get really red and raw looking too, so I use diaper rash ointment when it does, or Animax from the vet when it's really raw. She hits her face on the furniture playing with her ball a lot and that doesn't help. She just got her first yeast ear infection, so now I am wondering if it's her food? She has been eating the same food for about 8 months now, and her coat is very soft and glossy, and she has nice stools and no more wretched smelling gas. So it can't be all bad, but still, is her face smell food related? She is eating Royal Canin puppy and needs to switch to adult food, and I clueless about what to feed her now!

Look for a food that is grain free and...

20 to 25% protein. Taste of the Wild makes a good salmon/sweet potato called Pacific Stream. Natural balance also has a couple of grain free foods. I can tell you from experience my guys never had tear stains or any kind of skin problems and I switched Chester a couple of weeks ago to a low cal food and he's got a raging tail pocket infection and a big tear stain. He's back to the grain free, I'll just feed him less with green beans to fill him up.
