NEVER bought a dremel....NEED HELP to use this thing...

I just bought a dremel and need some help to know the best way to use it..
like the easiest way to get the job done..lol without a big fight from the bulldogs..
Gus does not like his nails done at the best of time..
and Bella really needs them done
so bought a dremel.

is there a best way to hold a bully still...??
hope someone has suggestions for this...

thanks

do they actually work better then clippers?? I can use the clippers if the dremel does not work out well. just thought with Gus and Bella hating nail trimming and 2 of us to hold them still..maybe the dremel is worth a shot and see how it goes..

It sure does

HURT!! Ouch. Haha

hahhaha I right..I can see myself...

doing that too...
I hope this is the right move..
really nervous around it.....but just take my time
I have 5 dogs..so lots to practice on..

It takes a good

Month to really get used to it. Take your time and just go with the flow. I know I sanded my own finger or hand a couple of times getting used to doing it. Haha..

Bullies are 3 and 2...

so they are not babies..
thanks for your help
I am a bit nervous using a dremel..
one nail one day sounds good to me..to start with and see how it goes..

A grooming arm

We use a grooming arm to keep them still. (online PetEdge.com)Of course we get them started with a dremel with variable speed, at low speed, when they are about 10 weeks old, up til then we use baby fingernail clippers. Having them used to the sound and sensation helps. I don't know your bullies age, but as said before, slow is best. Maybe just do one or two nails at a time, and then wait to do the rest the next day or later that day. Lots of treats during and afterwards always helps.

Perserverance isn't a long race.
It's a series of short races,
ran one after the other.

great..lets hope that works here too..

I will take it slow
will be hard for me to try this..since I am used to the clippers..but will give it a shot
great info on that site too. will use that to help me along the way.

I would think the dremel is better in the sense there should be no sharp edges when done..compared to the clippers who sometimes..need a file afterwards too

building up........courage..lol to give it a try

wow..what a site...

great great info on there..
thanks a bunch...
I am not that brave when it comes to trying this..lol
but will give it a shot ..later

Take it slowly

The doberdawn link above is how I got started. Use lots of treats. Now I try to catch them during nap time...Most of mine just sleep through it now.
