Hi everyone,
So Spanky has always had inflamation problems on his paws and I'm usually able to keep this problem under control with the malaseb wipes but today I came home and I found him licking his paws like crazy, one paw looked very swollen so I looked in between and saw a circular cut in his paw that was bleeding pretty bad I cleaned it up with warm water, then I wipped it with a malaseb wipe, then put some neosporin on it and I put his cone on so he doesn't lick it anymore. Is there anything else I can do? He does have a refill on his antibiotics should I refill them or do you guys think I should take him to the vet?
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Liz
you may want to try
a product called DermaPaw. I had great success with it. It's an all natural product you apply to paws then you put baby socks on overnight. It helped a lot with my older guy who had the same issue. Just google to order it off their site.

I'd soak it 2-3 times a day in Epsom Salt solution
about 1/2 c salts to 2qts warm water, 10mins (stand him in a dishpan if you have one) and see if th inflammation goes down. If not better over the weekend, I'd take him in on Monday altho I do expet that it will improve with the soak/coller/Neosporin treatment.

Morgan used to lick her paw until it bled
I tried antibiotics, several different medicines, sprays and several kinds of dog food. Nothing helped for very long. But, I recently started feeding Natural Balance lamb and her foot is no longer red and irritated. She doesn't lick it anymore either.
