breathers. You also need to know if they are just opening up the front of the nares or if the vet gos back to the terbinates, if not then its not much help to just open the front. Its like a funnel, nice and big in the back but small in the back. This is something you need to ask your vet and be very clear about. I was talking with my vet about nares and surgery and i told him i thought it was usless, he told me the vets who were doing them like that didnt know what they were doing. You have to go back into the terbinates.

no she doesn't have any other breathing issues, we had her spayed and while she was getting this done the vet suggested this nasal procedure to make it easier for her breathing. so we had it done at the same time

Hercules had it done when he had his soft palate surgery a couple of years ago. The vet suggested we open the nostrils because his were so narrow. Basically, when these guys have breathing problems they need all the help they can get. I believe there is an article available on the website about it. It's very minor compared to some of the other surgical interventions that are available. Also, now is a good time to have these things done -- once the weather gets warmer, the symptoms generally get worse.
Not sure, though, that I would put my dog under for just the nostril surgery. Does your dog have other breathing issues?
how old is the dog, many bulldogs are mouth
