This happened a week ago and seems to come and go. It's wierd. We thought initially it was allergies so we took him to the Vet and they gave him eye drops to use but it is not helping. Then we thought it was mosquitos or bugs biting him that is causing it to happen but no. Now we think it might be an allergic reaction to one of his toys so we're taking that away. I just wanted to see if any of you have had or has this problem with their english bulldog. I have attached some pictures so that you can see. It looks like it's swelling in part of the eye itself which I why I am not sure if it is cherry eye. Anyhow, any information would be helpful.
thanks

not sure how to message the cherry eye back into place?
I have a puppy that is only 4 months old and she has a slight infection. After I took her to the vet she developed a cherry eye. I have tried to put it back in place but it will not go. Any special tricks?
The fix...
for cherry eye is "tacking" them back in with a cple of tiny sutures. Winston (of "my first real owweee" fame) had the procedure and it only took 15 minutes start to finish. He was put under lightly, fixed, and then the anethsia (sp) was reversed. He came out fully alert. Of course we have a Vet who specializes in Bullys too. (Very Important, as Im sure you know.) Reasonable price as well.

My girl had it too
My Roxy also had cherry eye. I popped out several times when she was young, 3-6 months, and I just massaged it back in. And it hasn't happened in over a year. Massage it in and see how it goes. I also noticed that it was worse when allergies and pollen in the air was really bad. She has allergies so it may have contributed to the inflamation.
Cherry eye
YEP, that is cherry eye for sure. My male needed surgery. I also recommend the lite sutures, be sure you have a vet who has alot of experience with this. DO NOT let them remove the third eyelid. My female gets it from time to time and I am able to use an eye cream and massage it back in. Yours doensnt look too bad, I would try the eye cream and massage.
Gracie too...
has one that pops out every week or so, and has been doing so for the last year and a half. It always goes back in when I massage it, and the vet said not to deal with it until it STOPS going back in.
Roxy too. I just massage it back in.
Roxy's pops out about once a week and it goes right back in.... so far.
Have you tried pushing it back down?
It doesn't look very big.
Olivia has one that pops out every so often. I roll it back down under the lower lid & it will stay.
Sue
I go to that vet in Mar Vista
You are right
That is cherry eye all right. We just went through the surgery and it is as good as new now. It was a pain to get it fixed and put the medication in, but everything seemed to work out!

Hope this helps you!!
yes
It does look like all the pics/examples that I have seen for cherry eye. I was concerned that my little pup, had cherry eye recently, he ACTUALLY had a piece of leaf under his upper eyelid!!!!! His lower lid was red and inflamed but your pic the inflammation is worst in the edge nearest his nose. See you vet, I'll bet it is "cherry eye", your vet should tell you your options depending on the severity.
