One of the regular poster's dog

Swallowed a big bone, whole. She was freaking out. They saw the bone in the dog's stomach on xray. A few days later, the dog was at the vet's for a procedure to get the bone (don't remember if it was surgery or an endoscopy). The dog threw up a small piece of bone before they got started. That was all that was left! He had digested the rest. happy.gif

Glad to hear..

We are glad he is ok and we hope his stomach can break it down w/ no problems.

thank you both

I was worried about bringing it back up and thought it may not pass so brought him to my vet and just got back home, the vet did x rays and the hoove was in his stomach, he said to wait and the stomach acid might break it down enough to pass it so which watch him closely the next few days!!! gezzzzzzzzzzz he's the love of my life and eats everything he can get down his throught!!, the things I have found in his poop is unreal!! thank you for responding, he's eating as we speak, not sure if he realizes how much stress he puts on me when he swollows things?? lol

I would talk to the vet...

it could cause more damage coming up if you induce vomiting.

If its wider than his BM's I would be concerned about it passing
