Itchy Rash after wearing e-collar for two weeks help!!!!

Rocco just has had his stitches removed from his surgery and was able for the first time in two weeks to walk around without his e-collar. Now I have noticed that he is constantly itching his neck/throat...
He seems to have a rash that goes all the way down to the beginning to his chest.... It also had a yucky smell to it. He is itching it bloody (literally). What can I do??? Of course this has to happen on a weekend!!! Dang!

I would wash it with baby shampoo and dry throughly, and put some aveeno diaper creme on it, this happened to rocky with his collar, good luck

I have had this happen before...

I did have to shave the area to get it to finally heal properly.

I would wash it...

With soap and water. Dry thoroughly, then dust with some Gold Bond.
Now that there's air getting to it, and no further irritation from the collar, it should clear up.

AGREE...

Wash well, rinse well, and when dry dust liberally with Gold Bond Powder. Repeat in 3-4 days as needed. The powder may sting a bit if the skin is "raw" but it should clear up in about a week.
