I think Ozzy may have a sinus infection

He seems a little congested, nothing horrible but he's a little
boogery, his eyes are gooey too with a greenish discharge.
He's eating fine and otherwise seems like himself
except for the congestion. This has been going on for a few days and doesn't
seem to be improving, his symptoms are lingering.

I wouldn't mind starting him on an antibiotic until I get a hold of the vet
and was wondering if I could give him amoxicillin and if so what is the dosage recommended.
Ozzy weighs 65 lbs.

I also have Simplicef but I normally use that for skin infections and am
not sure if it's also indicated for sinus issues.

Thanks in advance for any advice and info happy.gif

Thanks Ela1ne

I started Ozzy on antibiotics yesterday and he already seems to be feeling
better, not so congested, thank goodness happy.gif

I'm still going to call the vet tomorrow to see what they advise.

Thank you so much!

I'd start a/b's also...

general dosing on Amoxi tabs would be 5mg/lb once or twice daily (at least 8hrs apart) and its used for many types of infections including soft-tissue such as skin and lungs (and presumably sinuses). HTH
