Submitted by michael43 on April 21, 2010 - 12:36amI'm willing to drive a bit for a check up and xray on my 2 EBs. I have no overwhelming concerns but my 9 month and 16 month have never seen a "EB specialist" just my normal vet who I do love but these guys require a little extra at times. I want to have their hips/knees xrayed as well as their tracheas just for comfort to know they are doing well. I'm torn between Dr. Kinnear in staten island and Dr. Lee in south jersey. Both are a drive for me but that's ok just want the best care. Can any1 give me some good advice? And again there is no offense meant towards any1 these are just the 2 my research has had me land on... Thanks in advance

Dr. Kinnear's Office
We have been going to Kinnear since George was a pup. I can't say enough wonderful things about Kinnear, but like you mentioned, there are stipulations about his office.
1. They know people will travel from all over to see him, so they ARE expensive, no doubt about that.
2. The girls that answer the phone are VERY VERY rude. My fiance laughs and makes me try to relax before I call, because I usually get so upset with their rudeness. It's not just you. Anyone you talk to says the same thing about their office.
3. When you make an appointment, make surrrrrre you specify that you want to see Kinnear or they will stick you with someone else. I saw another Dr. there once and was not crazy about him at all. There is a reason I pay the money I do....and that's to see Kinnear, not his associates.

I go to Dr. Lee
and have had great service. I drive an hour or so to get there. great service, knowledgable about the breed and affordable. it's the best place for me. you can't go in their office without seeing a bully breed. I've seen other dr.'s there and had the same great service and knowledge.
everyone in the office is super nice. customer service is great! i live in PA and have them mail me heartworm medication and they are fine with that.
kinnear works out of the same office I believe and...
I am leaning towards going there cause they are closer and seem to be favored but for what I want done is asking almost double in price to Dr. Lees office. And the 3 different people(not the doctors themselves) at richmond seem brain dead and are beyond rude over the phone... Thank you though for your imput
Vets
I use Dr. Esposito out of Dr. Kinners in Staten Island. It is called Richmond Vally Vets and they are the best!!!! I travel 1 hour to go there and wouldn't change it. I have tried our local area vets and was not to happy. Dr. Esposito is the best. Good luck with whichever Vet you decide on. Let us know.
