Pugsley has yeast issues sometimes, so when he gets bad we Nizoral, recommended by the vet, so as a regular shampoo we use head and shoulders. It works great.

Our first bulldog, Rocky had skin issues. After using Malaseb for quite awhile with so so results we ran out. Couldn't get any locally so tried Loreal Dandruff shampoo. Rocky looked alot better the next day than he ever had with the others. Ask our vet, he gave OK. We continued using it on Rocky the rest of his life. Now, we use it regularly on new puppy Harley and his coat is always full, soft, and shiny.

But the key thing is to make sure you rinse really really thoroughly. If there's any shampoo left on, it's going to make the dog itch or cause hotspots - no matter what type you use. My general rule of thumb - it takes twice as long to rinse as it does to shampoo.
