Re: Also want to ask if he was vaccinated at the vet's office.
Well he gave his shots and stuff on the 25 of Feb and got him march 1 so that could be it.
Also want to ask if he was vaccinated at the vet's office.
and/or did the breeder "worm him" before you picked him up...both of those could possibly cause diarrhea. I would add some cooked rice to his food and if you're feeding dry kibble, fix the rice so that its a little "sticky" (don't rinse it before you cook it, and use a little less water than on the box). I would NOT give any dairy until his diarrhea stops...and be sure he is drinking enough water (after each meal and after playing). If you are trying to housetrain him, I would put that off until he's feeling better, hopefully in a couple days...for now, just take him out every 2-3hours, including once during the night, at least to empty onto newspaper if the weather doesn't permit going outside (porch or patio).
Also..
Call the breeder you got him from if you can and ask them how much and how often they were feeding him..
Also on the home page of Bulldog World on the left side of the page is a lot of info that might help.. All of the info is good to know even if you don't need to know it today.
Re: 3 cups
Thank you
3 cups
1 cup in the breakfast 1 cup for lunch and 1 cup for dinner.. I cut it to 1 1/2 cups twice a day when they get to be about 6 months.
Re: Vet
Thank you, you have and yea actually took him a sample in a ziplock and Shadow left him a sample on the scale as well LOL. Also could it be how little i am feeding him how often and how much food should i give an 8 week old?
Vet
Did the vet know his stool was loose? Make sure he drinks water. Also do a search here for better ideas and great info. Some say give pumpkin but he is so little, I would call the Vet tomorrow and let them know what is happening. Im glad to hear he is active.
Keep us updated. Sorry, I couldn't be more help.
Re: Food
Yea i have only had him 3 days. A lil worried but he seems ok active just don't like the way the stool is coming out considering a new food cuz he is eating eukanaba dry kibble.
Food
Have you been feeding the same food that the Breeder was? A change in diet will give them diarhea.. Even treats can do it.
Vaccinations are meant to challenge the immune system
of the recipient into building antibodies to fight off the particular germ or disease if it is encountered in "full force" whereas the injection has been altered to not replicate in the dog but to stimulate the desired response. This, of course, can temporarily strain the dog's immune system to allow some minor upset, either fever or intestinal upset and the diarrhea, if not caused by any other confirmed factors, could be related to the shots. In any case, hope he's better soon! DO talk with your vet tomorrow to get more info.
