Hello, I have a couple of pregnancy questions...
Submitted by utahutes24 on April 21, 2010 - 12:39amBoston is at day 61 since her second breeding and still showing no signs of labor. She has not tried to nest, just sleeping quite a bit. She has not eaten dog food for a couple of days but seems to want my food when I'm eating. She also has not drank much water. I called my vet he said she sounds normal, but I'm still freaking out a bit.
Is there anything I need to be doing? Any help to ease my mind would be greatly appreciated!

Bloated but no signs of stress at all. She has just been sleeping a ton, so I will take that as a positive.
So if the test comes back higher than 2ng, you would suggest I put off taking the pups, unless she seems stressed, correct?

unless she is stressed. I have taken puppies at 5ng
but the mom was getting a bit stressed. The Closer to 2ng the better

I did not do a test and have been checking temp, it stays consistent. I have a 8am appointment tomorrow at the vet, which will be the morning of Day 62. I will tell him I want a progesterone test. So anything other than 2ng, wait to take the pups?

did you do a progesterone before the breeding
to know when she was at 5ng?
before i did progesterone i took my puppies at 61 or 62 day from the 2nd breeding. We do vaginal slides so we know when they are ready vs just breeding.
I would get a progesterone test done tomorrow if she is at 2ng take the puppies.
some bitches do not go in labor, dig or stop eating.
