Has anyone heard of "Palladia" as a chemo drug for treating mast cell tumors?

I am in shock as I write this. Clovis's lab report is not good. She has a Grade III mast cell tumor that is poorly differentiated. Grade III is the worst of the three grades. My vet said, however, that there is a new chemotherapy drug called Palladia that has had good results. Is anyone familiar with Palladia? Thanks.

posted on the regular forum...I spoke with my vet who is the can

at my Vet Hospital.

She said this is not a chemo drug as in the traditional idea of chemotherapy....it is more of a vaccination that stimulates the immune system to fight off the cancer.

She said you should, with no doubt, do this Gary.

i have heard of it.....

when we thought dolly had a cancer...my vet told me about this...he said their were 90% less side effects...and was very effective their is a web site.... i was never one for chemo for dogs...but i was going to use this....sadly dolly passed before we were able to do anyting tumor on the spleen ruptured....
but i would use it....over chemo....

it appears to be an amazing....

break thru for cancer for dogs...i hope it becomes a major break thru....

Well, I give my Friday "staph lysate" injections at home...

which acts like a vaccination as well. It stimulates her immune system to fight her MRSA staph infection.

My vet told me that subcutaneous (in the skin) injections can be done at home, intramuscular should be at a vet's office. So, I guess they are subcu.

becasue my vet explained i would be giving it at home??? vs going in for a iv drip?? its a pretty new drug so vets may be doing it different??
but i would go this way....

I believe it is a ratio of cell changing (mitosis) to those not

Does anyone know how to interpret a mitotic index?

Clovis has a 6/10 mitotic index. I can't find anything that explains that. My vet is out of the country for the next two weeks, so i can't ask him.
