Well....they said this would probably happen. Tuffy's right eye now has the beginnings of cherry eye. He got them a week apart from each other! We'll try to massage it in but if it doesn't work maybe the vet will give us a 2 for 1 special. His snipping procedure for the left eye is scheduled for Thursday. On the positive side, at least I won't have to play the waiting game any more...

I'm sure you're right
After a closer examination I think it's exactly what you said! It's just amazing how quickly this thing appeared and how enlarged it got. The vet is having us put some antibiotic ointment on it prior to the snipping to hopefully avoid infection. Looking forward to getting this resolved on Thursday!
Thanks!

Probably seeing more inflammation of the soft tissue
surrounding the eyeball (ie, a raised 3rd eyelid) and hopefully that will be corrected with the surgery and anti-inflammatory meds afterward.
This cherry eye looks different...
That's what I was thinking--go in once for both eyes! This cherry eye looks a bit different though. The one in his left eye you just see the gland in the corner but in the right eye you see it in the corner and it also shows around most of the entire rim of the eye so less of the eyeball is visible than in the other eye. Should I be worried?
Tuffy's Mama
at least get it taken care of in one surgery!
