Food Question

We have had our two bulldogs on the food, Exclusive, for a while now. They like it and we havn't noticed any problems, however our youngest Dink has a spot on his chest where he lost hair. It looks like its growing back but I'm not sure what caused it. He also has a couple very small spots starting on the top of his head about the size of a pencil eraser or smaller. I have read on here about foods that everyone else uses and I was wondering if there may be something better to switch them to. If anyone has used the food we are on now or has suggestions for other, better products please post. =] Thanks for everyones imput

Re: i use orijen dog food(chicken)

thanks for all the responses =] I will try and take a pic of the larger spot on his chest. I looked at some new foods today but we havn't decided if there is a real reason to switch it yet.

Depends on the severity

some can be dipped and some are given oral Ivermectin. They are a few courses of treatment, depending.

have your vet test him for demodex

very common in the breed, they should pluck hairs from each site where he is missing fur and be able to tell you right away. It's nothing to be worried about but may be the issue rather than his food.

i use orijen dog food(chicken)

both are doing great. I started my puppy on this food for adult and no problem. It is a grainfree product, coats are shiny and smooth. I also bath once a week with malaseb shampoo. Before one of them have black spots and hairs were falling out too. I shaved those spots before bathtime and then apply the malaseb shampoo in dollops and rub it into the area and leave it for 10 minutes while I scrub him and rinse. had to repeat this for about a month and the spots are gone and his fur has filled in. We went for scrapings and the vet couldn't find anything.
