Foaming and drooling
Submitted by NewBullyMom on April 21, 2010 - 12:31amZoey was spayed yesterday, Everythng went well.
Today she has been waking up foaming and drooing from the mouth really bad. It's happened 3 times. Is it something I should be worried about. I know they drool when there in pain but I did give her a pain pill this morning. Please let me know your thoughts.

Will do..
I'm hoping it won't happened today. I fed her a little rice and hamburger meat for breakfast. She doesn't seem like she's in pain so I'm skipping the pain pill all together. Will let you guys know how she does today. If it happens again today I will call my Vet.

call your vet if....
this continues for more than 24 hrs.....i would only give liquids at this time...i myself after surgery cannot eat and will throw up for 24 hrs...reaction to the drugs....but it is not normale after 24hr....your vet will have better meds to control the vomiting....
and make sure she is drinking too

I didn't give it with food. I was so worried about her being in pain this morning I just gave it to her with a piece of cheese. Tomorrow I will give her half after she eats her breakfast and see if that helps.

It could be this medication is making her nauseus.
Are you giving this pain pill with food? Try giving half the pill and see if that improves any...if not, phone the vet and ask if there's anything you can give in substitution (don't give aspirin following surgery because it can encourage bleeding at the incision site.
