Comfortis works well for fleas for us. Wanted to remind everyone there are now warnings out about mixing Comfortis and Ivermectin. If you use Ivermectin for heartworms, or any of the preventatives that has Ivermectin in it do not mix with Comfortis. Your vet can update you on this info.

the pill that kills fleas is called Capstar. I used Frontline on my bullies but it seems like the fleas have become immune to it, so we use Advantage and have no problems. For the initial onslaught everyone got one pill, then the advantage for monthly control.

I tried it and I love it... I can't say enough about it but if you are breeding it shouldn't be used... My male get it year round and it doesn't affect them but I only give it once every six weeks and I give half the dose recommended. I use Advantage on my females two months before they are due to come into heat then Frontline while in heat, pregnant and nursing...... after they go back on Comfortis....

once a month for both fleas and heartworm. But that doesn't get rid of the fleas that he/she might already have. It only prevents the eggs from being able to hatch. There's a one time pill that the vet can prescribe, and I can't remember the name of it right now, sorry, but it kills all the fleas and their eggs that are on. I've only used it once when for whatever reason my guy got some fleas. They haven't been back since. Hopefully someone here will post what that med is called. And I'm sure your vet will know what it is too.

I use apple cider vinegar, I read it is a natural repelent,
It seems to work. I put a capful in their water each time I fill their bowl.
