Dozer's SFA is getting worse :-(

We upped his melatonin to 6mg a day and its not having any effect. His bald spots are growing and while it doesnt bother him it looks unsightly. Is there anything else we can do? People keep asking whats wrong with him and i feel like a bad mommy when i try to explain SFA and what not. What else can i do?

Same here with Brisket

Brisket's SFA has been progressing as well. Some hair has grown back sporadically over the bald spots. He just had his annual well visit, and all is well. Thyroid is OK, scraping is negative, blood work is good too. I have not tried melatonin, but I do use the MicroTek Spray every other day on his bald spots. It moisturizes the areas, especially during the dry
Winter months. His Vet says, that it can sometimes last for 2 years. We're already into 14 months. It doesn't seem to bother him, just us. Good Luck.

All the best, Al and Brisket.

Have you had his thyroid checked?

If it's not thyroid related, there's not much else you can do about it. Try getting him put in the sun more.
