do cooked chicken wing bones dissolve?

Dear all,

I posted last Sat. regarding Kibby accidentally eating a fried chicken wing ( she chewed it for about 5 secs before swallowing)...

Anyways, I have been watching her, feeding her bread w/oil, along with her regular food... and she has been pooing normally. Poo has been a little more solid, I think due to the bread.

I have been checking her poo, to see if I could find the bones, but I have only been able to find one small bone (the next day), the size of the tip of a q tip.... and nothing else?

Kibby has been acting normal, playing, running, sleeping, all the usual things that she does.... so should I still be concerned? The only thing different is that she has an idc in between her toes that has seemed to flare up again ... it was going away , but all of the sudden started flaring up again? I don't think its related to the chicken wing?

It's been 3 days, shouldn't I have felt more bones come out of her by now? or would her stomach acids melted the bones down?

I worry that it is still in her somewhere... thanks!

thank you, no blood ...

thank you very much for the info! maybe i will just keep giving her bread/rice to be sure all the bones have been cleared from her system... its a little hard to tell if anything is wrong with her insides cause this new dogfood (instict/chicken) is making her poo like softserve!

they can splinter internally and if you haven't seen blood

then she is likely ok. They will eventually break down so if the warning signs are not there she is likely fine happy.gif

They definitely can

Be digested. The danger with cooked bones is that they can splinter. That's why bread and/or rice are good to give after ingestion. I've given my guys raw chicken wing tips with no problem.
