Diarrhea & Throwing up
Submitted by BeefysFam on April 20, 2010 - 11:27pmBeefy (2.5 yrs) began to have diarrhea yesterday, had the runs throughout the night and today, and just now threw up his dinner. We gave him his usual kibble (TOTW) with plain rice tonight to try to settle his stomach. Looking at him now, his eyes are red, and so is his muzzle.....we're pretty scared and not too sure what to do....should we head to the emergency vet?

I gave 2 tablespoons. Good luck trying to get a liquid down his throat. Maybe they have pill form?

Thank you Lynn!! If we were to give Kaopectate, what dosage? Beefy is around 75 lbs. Thanks again for your quick response...
Let his belly rest
no food, maybe a little rice Sunday night. Be sure he is drinking, water intake is far more important then food. I've given Kaopectate with good success. If he continues to vomit/have diarrhea on Monday, you may want to give your vet a call.
