dead puppy?

So we delivered 6 puppies today via C-section. One that was stuck in the birth canal didn't make it and we brought the other 5 home. There was another one that the vet was very concerned about that has been laboring to breath. I just tube fed her because she was so lethargic that when I put the other 4 on momma, she just didn't have the strength to try. When she would breath...she would open her mouth and gasp..every breath. The thought ran through my head that tube feeding would be cutting her air supply because she was refusing to breath through her nose.....but I was worried that not trying would mean depriving her of the nutients her body needed to help get stronger..... After the tube feeding....she gasped a few more times and basically went limp.....I've tried to revive her but it's not going anywhere at this point....her snout is still pink but no visible aspiriations and still limp as a wet rag. Is there any hope at this point? The one we lost at birth turned blue quickly......why is she still pink?

that's so sad!

I bet it's hard to lose a baby.

passed on....;(

This little girl didn't make it. I tried everything....chest compressions, she was kept warm throughout but she just remained limp and would not come back to us. VERY sad, but it's part of birth. The other 4 are thriving and growing fast and Chloe has taken very well to her babies. She won't lick them herself yet, but I'm thankful when they yelp, she comes over and nudges them into a pile and lays down. I'll take that. ;p Much better than supplementing the whole time. So I potty my 4 babies after mommy is done. It's a lot harder than you think it will be to lose even one from your litter. I've been staying positive but still thinking about the 2 that we lost. ;(

Any Update?

Wondering if the puppy made it? Also wondered if the pup was experiencing a critical drop in blood glucose, maybe a drop of kayro on it's tongue? Hope all is well.

sounds like she is gone

im sorry. fingers crossed for the rest of the puppies. Give them each a bit a karo before each feeding. to keep them strong and give them a bit of a boost for feeding.
