Malaseb Replacement

So after some research the vet I work for is recommending Douxo - 3% Chlorhexidine PS Wipes . I know it's probably not going to work for everyone, but we just ordered a couple of them and I am going to give them a try.

Someone here

recommended vagisil wipes in place of the Malaseb. I've never tried it though.

Hug your bulldog every day.

Malaseb Wipes

The company that makes them is no longer in business. They failed to do or keep up with their quailty control and the FDA shut them down. They still do human medications but not animal. Which really stinks because the Malaseb wipes are great. The Vet I work for is currently researching another suitable alternative for me, when we find one I can let you know if you want.

With cleaning it 3 times a day I would think you are irritating

just clean it once a day and put on the Desitin and leave it alone for a few days and see if it gets any better. Too much wiping will really not let it heal. I would also use a baby wipe to clean the folds.

Do you think there's any infection?

Is there any sign of discharge, or is it just irritated? Tears can be irritating to the skin - especially if the pH is off.
I would cut back the cleaning to twice a day for at least a week and see how that goes. When Q had tear stains, I swiped with a little peroxide, rinsed with water, dried with a cotton ball, then gooped some desitin on the fold to protect it from any more moisture.
Now that he doesn't have issues with tear stains (in his case, it was food related), I wipe once or twice a week with a dry cloth. If there's excessive tearing, I put a little desitin on.

I am using both.

I have never seen nothing like it. She has the most sensative skin. I knew that white bullies skin were more sensative but this is unreal.

Re: Chloe's Wrinkles

Besides the medicated powder, you can also use some Desitin Ointment. It is soothing. Make sure you are not rubbing too hard when cleaning. then dry well, apply the Desitin ointment. The Gold Bond Powder works well too.

I use Gold Bond medicated powder

at night and destin cream during they day. I clean three times a day, One in the morning, when I get home from work and before bed.

What should I be cleaning it with? Its raw so I dont want to use anything that is going to burn.

Does anybody know where can I buy malaseb wipes online?

The last time I checked they are still back ordered. They really do wonders for those folds and the tail pocket. Or can anyone suggest a good alternative? Thanks!

I'd say you're cleaning too much, or theres

something more going on than just irritation.

Cash is the only one who needs wrinkle cleaning here, and its every 2-3 days w/ malaseb wipes. After wiping, I dry and apply desetin foot powder... Tom from these boards recommended it and it works awesome... antifungal and keeps them dry.
