Bella's Behavioural STUDY is done...

so the behaviourist considered how much like a MOTHER Bella is to the pugs..to the point of dragging the pug out of the tub ..even if she just squeaks..lol. she is always destroying things like newspapers and fly swatters...no idea why...

after all this ..we thought since only started this when Max came to the house. he is my rescued pug..maybe a maternal insticts kicking in..but in the end they decided that is the PROTECTIVENESS of the bulldog breed that is the main reason they see. when Max came as a rescue dog...her instinct to protect came in and why is you protect one dog..YOU MIGHT as well protect all the dogs..lol

she is very protective over the pugs that is for sure
and a great foster MOM to them too..

so the pugs are safe with her I guess..and ME TOO.
the offense to the weapon..or flyswatter or newspaper is not directed at me said the behaviourist it is directed at what Bellas thinks is a danger..for whatever reason

the study will be forwarded to the University of Guelph for further study by the vets at the college..

the behaviourist is not worried much either....

they will forward the info to the university of guelph though for interest sake mostly...
no idea why the paper is being forwarded...other then that likely

Oh, I thought it was a study being conducted by the

University of Guelph. Was curious what they were studying.

Truthfully, Bella's behavior doesn't seem that unusual, regardless of breed.

this all happened before I seen you posting Lynn...but.

what happened is a long time ago now..the vet had me contact a behaviourist do to Bella head over heals of the pugs. she took them right under her wing, even let them try to nurse on her. she was never a mom. she also would for no reason but things above my head..got destroyed..no big things..just the flyswatter and newspaper.
the lady offered to study her and see why she is the way she is with the pugs. she only did this when the young abused pug showed up...
up to the point she could care less about the pugs, I had 2 in the house and never bothered with them at all.
well lone behold along came the rescue pug 6 months later and all started.
was like she just woke up and had 3 puppies..she is spayed and so on..and never been a mom
she will go out last when the pugs go out, last when she comes back in
she is always checking up on them, playing solid all the time with them, and also...when you take Bella away for a vacation which my son did to the cottage.she did not sleep..she paced and would not eat. he came home early and the moment she saw the pugs she was fine.. and ate like a horse..

the basis of the study was to see ..if there was anything to worry about with the flyswatter, or the newspaper or the pugs for that..
was she just attached or what?
and so on
just turned out she is very protective..that is what they think anyhow..
bulldogs apparently are very protective over their families.
can see if she had been this way with one pug..but not all 3 ..
she treats them all the time..bath them, lets them eat her dog food and the list goes on and on.

I never paid for the study, the lady wanted to do it on her own and she also contacted a bulldog vet that lives very close to her for her ideas on this..
and the vet agreed on her findings

What is the study for?
