ear infections..are not good in bulldogs or any dogs for that matter been there and done that here too the drops in the ears and oral antibiotics too hope Spanky ears get better..
some of his smell might go away once he ears are cleared up. Infected ears give a dog a very strong odor usually too..
the other thing is wow..glad that he is sleeping soo good that is a big big change for the two of you there and I bet you are happy happy. 7 am is a good time to get up really for any dog.. good for you and Spanky too
glad to hear that he is better he has been on my mind and also glad that he is not getting sick right now either in the mornings..
keep us updated we are all fine here still waiting for Christmas and my son to get home off the ships likely another couple of weeks yet.. so the tree stays up a bit longer..
Spanky went back to the vet today, because he has continued to shake and rub his ears. When had taken him to the vet less than 2 weeks ago because he was shaking his ears, and she said his ears were not infected. Now his ears are infected, so we now have another whole host of drugs to give him. Another $100. I think we must be putting this vet's kids through college. We seem to see her every couple of weeks.
Spanky has both oral and topical antibiotics, and a couple of antihistimines. I have discovered that he loves taking pills in a little slice of hot dog. Anyway, now I am hopeful that these drugs will give him some relief. I thought he had an ear infection when we took him 2 weeks ago.
The vet said the yogurt would be ok to try, but suggested that we wait until after this infection is over before we try anything new. She said some dogs are lactose intolerant and you don't know without trying. In the meantime, he has not been throwing up lately! Hooray! He has been sleeping until 6:30 or 7:00 in the living room on his pillows and quilt. Life is good!
sounds all and all he is doing much better...
