Amber...any news on your bulldog's NECK?

Hoping that its not the deep ear infection that I'm suspecting...with a partial or full canal removal needed. Maybe the drugs are working??

Glad to hear the good news!

Hope Charley heals quickly!

Took Charley back to the vet today

Good news for now! I took Charley back this morning to do a biopsy and the vet said he thinks the swelling has gone down! So he wants me to continue with the Metacam and antibiotics. Hopefully this good luck will continue and the mass won't reappear. He slept hard ALL day yesterday and is back to snoring now. I guess his little body is fighting!

Thanks for all the well wishes and I'll keep ya posted.

i have had the salivary issue with a couple of my dogs.... (Pics

it is caused from them playing roughly and pulling on each others faces. we tried antibiotics first and that did help one of them heal up. the other needed to have a drain tube put in for about 10 days. thankfully that took care of the problem. the last resort would have been to remove the gland completely. Excuse the messiness of her but i had just picked her up and she was draining all over herself. She wasnt feeling so well...

Charley update

I took Charley back to the vet yesterday and he agreed that the mass has gotten bigger and there is fluid building in his neck. He said the fluid in his neck is to be expected as the mass blocking the normal passage of the fluid to his glands. He wants to continue with the meds until Wednesday. If no improvement by then, he'll sedate him and cut it open. He's still not sure exactly what it is, but thinks it's a problem with the salivatory glands.

He also said the lump is behind his jaw, that's why it's hard and I can't feel any fluid around it. So I'm not sure how he is going to get to it without cutting his jaw. I'm just hoping for any improvement before tomorrow. I really don't want his face to be cut open. I feel so bad for Charley. He's just been laying around the last few days, so now his torn ACL is bothering him and he's limping too. I guess that will be fixed after this issue gets resolved. Gotta love the bulldog!

Thanks for your concerns. I'll keep ya updated.
