I am tude feeding my babies and today (day 2) started putting them on mom some during the day, but tube feeding them first.
The girls are between 13.4-15.9 oz. All have lost alittle weight since birth yesterday, aprox. 1/2oz/each. (except for the water pup)
I am feeding a formula made of water, gelatin, egg yolks and kayro. The girls are getting 3cc every 3 hours.
Is it normal for them to lose weight at the beginning or am I not feeding them enough? My problem child blows mild through her nose if she has more than 2cc at a time.
Any advice is GREATLY appreciated.

left out carnation milk n/m
nursing
I just went through that. My girl is now almost 4 weeks and is doing great but occasionally milk comes out the nose. I found that if she isn't straight up on a teat she has the milk coming from the nose so now I make sure she is upright on mom and does great. Good Luck

Re: Am I feeding enough?
It is normal for some to lose a 1/2 oz. or so. Why are you tube feeding? Those are good weights for puppies. The more they nurse, the more milk mom will produce. Just watch and quickly wipe the milk from the nose with a kleenex while nursing. Good luck!
