Tank still has the acne all over his chin. I wipe his face after eating and drinking. I have tried pyoben that the vet gave me and I used it once a day for a week just as I was supposed to. I tried the Listerine and gold bond powder, but i'm not really seeing much improvement. Maybe I'm not giving it enough time to work?? It always seems to be worse at night especially after he plays. Do you think he has allergies? He doesn't scratch it at all. Could it be his food? He is eating the Wellness lamb. Does any one have any other suggestions? Thanks
I would go to Stainless steel bowls...
I had that on our Bentley, years ago...it cleared right up with the bowl change and as he grew a bit older, it went away. You need to change the water frequently and wash the bowls between.

I have used
I have used the liquid bandaid stuff and it coats the area and helps it heal quicker
could it be the toys he is playing with?
could be irritation from the toys. Wash them often and wipe his chin after play. Junior once had a chin rash I finally figured out was caused by a plastic ball he liked to chewing on.
I don't rescue animals because I want to feel better about myself, or morally superior to anyone. The best part of my life with animals is the humility they teach and the humanity the foster.

Q's bled a bit...
When he had his bout of "teenaged acne". I cleansed with the stridex twice a day till it started to look better (3-4 days? Hard to remember...) then I cut back to once daily.

Acne on chin... again
I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I do use stainless steel bowls and always put them in the dishwasher to clean. This morning Tank had some bleeding from the bumps. Is this normal? How often do you use the stridex pads? Some of these bumps are quite large. Thanks!
What worked for me
Stainless steel bowls for eating and drinking (and I would disinfect at least once a day) and the alcohol-free stridex pads.
Most bullies have reddened bumps on their chins. It has to do with the shape of their jaws. The hair gets jammed into the follicle, causing the bump. That's different from acne, though...

Thank you
Thanks for all the valuable info. I really appreciate it. Hopefully I will get it cleared . I never considered that the toys could possibly be the culprit!
Just be careful...
George had what started as puppy acne. After him having it a few months (it would keep coming back) it turned into a staph infection. Just keep a close eye on it and if it starts to look really bad, make sure you go see your vet.
