8 months too young to spay EB female?

I want to get her spayed asap and she turns 8 months next week. Is it too young or am I ok? Thanks guys

General consensus is anytime after 6mos is fine.

I agree about waiting well past the heat cycle but at 8mos she likely hasn't come into heat yet (most bitches mature 9-12mos). Choose your vet carefully as anesthesia is the most important factor with a bulldog, and expect that she will be staying overnight at the vets, but ask beforehand for no surprises, and be aware that there may not be anyone in attendance on that overnight stay. happy.gif

Re: spay

It should be OK, as long as she hasn't been in heat recently.
If she has been, better to wait 2 months post heat before she is spayed. My Vet won't do a spay while a bitch is in heat or within the next 2 months unless it is an emergency. The blood vessels surrounding that area are enlarged making surgery a greater risk of excess blood loss.
For my bitches that will be not shown/bred I like to wait until they have had their 1st heat before spaying. But for most people, the mess and all isn't worth waiting.
