7 day old puppies

Since the pups were born one of the puppies has a constant congestion in her nose. The milk comes out when feeding on her mom. She is gaining weight and eats well but I just can't get rid of the congestion. I did take her to the vet and she said her lungs are fine and no cleft palate. How long before this goes away? It is horrible watching her struggle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I wipe her nose but am so afraid it will end up in her lungs. I thought someone out there might have gone through this and done something differently. I have had pups do this in the past but usually goes away within a few days.

the kind I have won't allow the pointed end to go up the nose

it's too big to fit up the nostrils, but I like it because it reaches back far into the throat if they get a little mucous buildup.

nasal aspirator

You need to get a nasal aspirator & suck out their noses until you don't hear the congestion anymore. Wiping their noses is not enough.

Question

Are you supposed to put the point in the nose or around the nose?

mine still sound nasally or raspy when eating and they are 3 wee

it stops once they get done nursing.....get the nasal aspirator with the long pointy end....I hate the ones with the little plastic thing on the end.....useless for getting back in the throat if they get a little bit of mucous going and need to get it out.

Wait

Shouldn't this congestive thing be gone now? I feel so bad for the little one. She is eating well and sleeping well and very eager to eat. I just thought this conjestion would be gone. Anyway thanks for the help.

Agreed!

You can get a bulb aspirator in the baby dept. of just about any store.
