10 day old bullys feeding schedule
Submitted by angierys on April 21, 2010 - 12:41amI am wondering how often I should be feeding my 10 day old babys. I am feeding them every 3 hours now and I have noticed that they only nurse for about 10 mins or so. I am wondering if i should space it out to every 4 hours so they may nurse longer. Any suggestions.

i feed every 3.5 hours
Until 3 weeks then they go to every 4 hours with mush at night they go 5 hours. I always have FAT puppies so it works for me

I have 4wk old pups who are still on two hour feedings. They nurse for about 10 mins and mom's milk only lets down once so spreading them any longer wouldn't help IMO. You will see them need then lye still while milk flows or lets down.... anything longer then 10 mins is just to sooth them. If they sleep contently for 3 to 4 hours I wouldn't wake them but if they are hungry at 2. 5 hours I would still let them nurse. I started spoon feeding my pups at 2.6 wks soaked dog food mixed with formula to a yogurt consistency since their weights were 7 and 8 ounces at 2 days and I think their trying to catch up, every litter is different. When I've had bigger pups at birth they have gone 3 to 4 hours at 10 days, but the smaller ones have not.
