Puppy with bowed legs??
Submitted by midnightramblin on April 20, 2010 - 10:27pmHas anyone ever had issues with a puppies front legs getting more and more bowed? I have a 9 week old female and her front legs are becoming more bowed each day. It is now to the point where she appears to be walking up on her toes and on the outside of her feet. We have been told this could be a protein issue, as in too much. I've heard this before, but just wanted more opinions. We took her to a non bulldog vet and they didn't have any answers. We see our bully vet on Friday.

i give cottage cheese but not to many vitamins
as i dont want them to grow to fast. I dont use puppy food at all on my puppies. I use all stages and then add cottage cheese, some get ester C and 1/2 a pet tab, just depends on the litter

Vicky, what do you think of giving
1 calcium tablet each day? I always think it is a good idea till 1 year. Wrap it in a piece of Velveeta...

My pup[s always got 1 scrambled egg every day with 1 tablespoon
to it and 1 pet tab. I also do not give puppies artificial calcium just what is in cottage cheese.

She has not been on any medications. We changed the food today to an adult food with less protein. I will start the Ester-C tomorrow.

start the ester C it will make a difference in a few weeks, and off the puppy food
