I just pulled this bit of information about the current storm up north.
"The highest wind reported was 91 mph in Portsmouth, N.H. well above hurricane force of 74 mph. Gusts hit 60 mph or more from New York's Long Island to Massachusetts".
I need to try to get in touch with Lynn Kind and make sure she is ok. I tried the other day and their power was down.

Generally I have seen only mild wind with snow storms, but it just depends:-) We got a real whopper of a storm around Christmas....dry, cold snow with high winds. Shut down all the highways, smaller state roads etc. There had been ice earlier in the day and then the snow on top...bad idea. Funny thing though, we only actually got about 4 or 5 inches of snow with that storm. Texans just can't handle that kind of precipitation though:-) No salt trucks around here, no plows...just a bunch of 4 wheel drive pickups out spinning around in the mess:-)

it sure got cold enough last night for snow . . . 28 degrees . . . but someone forgot to tell the snow.
Stay warm. Our whole state would shut down if we got 12 inches of snow. But it would be fun.

Some blizzards can carry high winds.

I think about 40 minutes
I am closer to NYC
48" since Wednesday and it's still snowing!
I wish!
rain, rain, and more hair frizzing rain, here.
