today in my town because one of the kids tested positive for Swine Flu and another one has the symptoms but isnt confirmed to be positive yet.
I feel like going and pulling my children out of school but the district website says not to and that they will call if any other issues Adminse.
I have masks ready for us all. Going to be a scary time. I live in agriculture capital and we have alot of migrants coming and going from Mexico.

Gee Gary I thought you meant the rock band THE WHO and stupid
me was trying to figure out what they have to do with it.
Thanks for clarifying.
talked with my DR friend first
as out kids are best friends and go to school together. i didnt pull them but there was reps going into each classroom today teaching the kids abou using th sanitizer, hand washing and how to cough into your shirt and not your hands.
They also sent flyer and made phone calls district wide that about if our child is sick to keep them home.
We are headed off for a mini vacation this weekend to Bass Lake. At least i will feel safe snuggled in my cabin and out fishing.

It's freaking me out too
If it were just me, I wouldn't be so worried but the thought of the kids getting it really scares me. There's a kid in my daughter's preschool class whose dad has flu symptoms and the kid is getting sick too, and it's making me nervous! What really freaks me out is that the little girl that died in TX isn't much younger than my little boy. I just couldn't imagine that.
I jump every time I hear someone sneeze. I hate being so nervous.
I agree with everything you said, missing a week of school may n
but it's much better than the possible consequences.

Forgot to say, the WHO is the World Health Organization . . .
just in case some have never heard of that acronym, WHO.

The WHO just announced that a worldwide pandemic is imminent
this is starting to get pretty scary. I have both surgeon's masks and Tamiflu stockpiled but even those things are not foolproof. Good luck to everyone.

we now have 3 cases in Maine
waiting for the news, in my county but not sure if its near me or not.
Concerns that you may be right. It will be a quiet Cinco de Mayo
celebration this year I think also...perhaps that is good also, if they don't do one of those outdoor festival-type parties downtown. ?!!?
I don't think it will be too long before they start...
Doing that here in San Diego. Let's just hope this ends soon

i would bring them home from school
since the area you live in has many migrant workers, and the time of year is just starting for the workers to get here and get things ready.
I would atleast tell your kids, if someone coughs, sneeze, they should walk out. Also carry masks, and purell. Im not kidding, i have used a bottle a day for the last few days. Before and after each patient, then washing hands. My hands are so dry and irritated right now. People do not get it either, they are not covering up when they cough.
dont share pens, dont shake hands, wash, wash, wash. Stay out of school, church, casino......

I wouldn't be that worried yet
I think this years seasonal flu was more dangerous as of right now, but obviously I would be like you if I had kids and track the hell out of it
