About my decision to not breed Ana, due to all the complications that can and do Adminse with this breed. Mainly in part from the information I got on this board.
I am so sorry for all the loss of bully puppies lately by the amazing people on this board and it only reaffirms my decision that breeding a bulldog is a serious decision and one that isn't prepared to do so, SHOULDN'T.
I am glad that I had Ana fixed and that I am leaving the betterment of this breed to the professionals on this board. I thank each and everyone of you for having the fortitude to take on this difficult task head on, so that these amazing dogs can continue to grow and prosper in the proper MANNER.
Thank you for caring so much that you want to see the best for even us owners that come into the Bullie World as novices, for giving your unending words of encouragement and support, sharing your wealth of knowledge and your expertise. As much as I love Ana this first year and a half would've been so much more trying without all of you on this board.
As much as I would love to have more of my baby girl, I know that I made the best decision and HOPE and PRAY that anyone else that is new to this breed will carefully consider the risks associated with breeding.
Sorry for the rant, but I figured what better place to post this and in light of the RC comments, I especially want to thank you all that do this right!
Re: I HUG HER EVERYDAY
Kudos to you, Jessie & Anna.
I respect your decision. Instead of finding out the hard way.
Best Regards, Kim
I HUG HER EVERYDAY
And thank the angels that bred her to be a part of my life. You are a great person for doing what you do and making families complete! Stay strong, those babies are beautiful.
glad you did what is best for you and your girl
breeding is very hard, but when you make a family whole as you have its worth it.
I know i have had a very bad weekend, but i have had litters in the past that were great, the heartache is fresh, but the smiles on faces the faces of new owners is priceless.
Hug your girl!
Vicky
Amen... I got Winston fixed as soon as the vet said ok.
I could not possibly profess to begin to know how to handle this difficult task of bulldog breeding. I will leave it to the experts (who by the way suffer horribly through the hardships, traumas, and general difficulty with birthing these
babies). I admire and respect their decision but choose to stay the he## away from this of which I know nothing!!!
Kathryn
You said it well,
I was thinking the same thing. I had my Lola spayed because I had heard that bulldogs have trouble with pregnancy and birth. She has been such a wonderful and heathy girl that when we decided that we wanted another bulldog. I had regretted spaying her because I would have loved to have one of her pups especially since our new boy has had a rather major issue (spinal deformalty which needed surgery with unsure outcome)But after reading so many sad outcomes from such experienced breeders I know that I am in no way qualified to even have one litter. I also wish I had known about this site sooner, because I would have known about good bulldog breeders. But then again my Bandit may have needed to find a family who was able to provide him with the medical intervention he needed.
