SURGERY is over..thank goodness my bullies passed NURSING..

holy cow. the surgery is done. I am home now. Just a fast note to tell everyone that I made it through and thanks for the support.
I am really swollen. the new teeth her far too much..will give a try in a few more days.
Bella came this am. when Bryan dropped me off at the hospital this morning at 6:30 am. she screamed when I left the car. she cried most of the time when I was gone.
when I got released Bryan brought her back to the hospital. she was thrilled to see me. but NOW will not let me out of her face ONE TINY bit. she is laying on my feet as I type this.
Bella has a great 6th sense about her and that is the one thing that I love about the bulldog.
Gus is busy with a chewie to keep him quiet, as are the pugs..
tonight it is hockey for me. Canada verses Russia and tons of bully and puggie love I guarantee it.
thanks for the support
will do another thread when I am feeling a bit better

my jaw is wired for now..too. lots of mush foods. the dentist sayed 5 months till you can even try to eat an apple. wow..long haul ahead.
thank goodness I have my sons and my dogs..
with Bella...being my nurse it would be soo much worse too..she is a sweetie..love her

Hope you feel better soon!

Glad you have a couple of adorable bullies and some sweet puggies to keep you company during your healing. Take care!

Calling Nurse Bella:)

so glad you got that over with. Its tough...
hang in there!!!

much bully love~Christine, Dupree, Marley and Savannah

I am alergic to codiene..so ibruprohen was the only one..

that I could use too
they gave 600 ml and see how that goes
1 every 6 hours
hope I am not on these for a long long time..
I hate taking meds...of any type

Glad your back home

Feel better soon.

had my jaw fixed today and my teeth all taken out....

sucks big time..but had to be done
Gerd ruined my teeth and have a backwards bite sort of thing. the bottom jaw butts up again the top jaw too close and breaks off my teeth..so that was fixed today too.
not allowed to talk
not allowed to sleep till the bleeding out worry is over.. my mouth is still bleeding a bit inside ..so they want it to stop some before I get a really long nap in...slowing down slowly though..good thing.
and so on..so typing some

5 months of recovery is a long time
will watch more of the olympics
and rest with dogs once the swelling settles..down a bit

were out really early this am.
pretty swollen
and using Bella as my nurse..
who by the way ..out does the nurses in OR.. only kidding..great nurses at this small hospital.
Bella is the best though..

Well, you take care..

I found the pain meds with codine made me terribly nauseated. My best discovery was that Ibuprofin (800 mgs) kept the pain under control and didn't make me sick.

thanks for your support

I really appreciate the support
but no smooches for now..
smooches would hurt my face no doubt.
that is actually one of the things that I worried about the dogs what to do if they try to kiss me..but soo far they are staying away from my face.
in a few days the swelling will go down and back to bulldog smooches..and pug smooches too..lol

glad it is over Elaine...healing will take its time..

I am not in the best of moods at the moment..but at least I am glad that the worst part is over.
I hate being put under..and even worse if it is one of my dogs. I fight the annestetic...and did again today...and take too much of it to get me out.
been out for a couple of walks today for the gas here..and wrapped in a scarf around my mouth but at least I am moving
will be better tomorrow when I can sleep more and the bleeding has in fact stopped and that is not the big worry anymore
thanks for the support

Bella is the best of the best. she is soo darn cute as a nurse. even feeling miserable you have to smile her when she puts the big head of hers in your lap..laying on the couch. she is going to sleep with me for the next couple of nights. my son is off for a course and will not be around here. bad timing..but I can handle the dogs and me..been there and done that before

aww. Little Nurse..

My Roxy was like that when I had kidney stones. She never left my side or bugged me to let her out or feed her.

Glad you have a little nurse to take care of you. Hope you feel better soon!

you must feel relieved to have it behind you.

glad to hear all is well.....

smooches to you from the bohunk boys!!!

I have had such crappy rotten teeth for so long...this is pain b

I will never have to see the dentist again..that is a great feeling
I will not have a real sore mouth once all this is over
might be a few months but I can see the end of the tunnel.
before there was no end..
this is healthier for me too..
very important to get the rotten teeth out..
and the jaw repaired too..

thanks for your support

wow glad your doing ok

gonna take a long recovery time sounds like!!! hope your not in any pain .

my teeth kept breaking...

it is hard to explain, been like this since I was a kid
they just adjusted the jaw somehow so that the pressure from the bite will not break off the top teeth.
been an issue since the beginning of time with me
so they just kinda adjusted the jaw to fix that
when I tried on the new teeth today, I can sure see the difference, before I could not see my bottom teeth when I talked or smiled..but NOW..they are huge looking.
this will get take some time to get used too.
the jaw is not that sore part..but I got meds to help with all this as well
it is when the teeth are put onto the jaw that it hurts like @#@#@.....so not going there for a bit yet.

they call it backwards but it seems to be more of a space issues if you ask me..
the bottom teeth go right up behind the top teeth when I bite. hard to explain but I tried

glad your home and doing ok but what is

a backwards bite? im very curious

The Canadians better win..lol

well will be a good game
and Bella is a sweetheart..
she sure sense things are not right.
I am not a quitter..
and I am well aware of the fact that this is going to take time
they do not want me mega sleeping, since I am a bleeder and might not catch the extra bleeding for now. not talking but at least I can type..
will be text messaging the kids tonight..
the dogs are all using sign language..lol

all the teeth on the bottom were taken out..

I had Gerd and it ruined my teeth. I had a denture on top already...now the bottoms were done today. might need implants if I can not get used to these things but want to wait to see how the gum heals first. the new teeth are georgous if I could wear them.. oh well all in time.
the jaw was fixed to correct my bite. I have a backwards bite..kinda like a bulldog..but backwards..

Glad everything went well

How many teeth did you have pulled? Was it your wisdom teeth? I know that is really painful. It's good that you have the doggies to help you feel better.

I am glad to hear from you Pat!

Bella is a sweetheart to be so worried about you.
At least now the worst is over and it's just healing from here on! Well, probably the worst will be over in a few days, but at least the surgery's done now.
I hope it's a good game tonight for you!

long long road Deb...really long...but got the bullies..that is

I got Bella the day I was released from life threatening surgery...4 years ago....almost to the day. she was the best thing on the planet for me to get moving, and so on.
I have been through worse then my jaw and teeth but this is going to take some real trying to get used to.
I got back to see the denturist next Monday if they still are killing my mouth.
right now the gums are really tender, as is the jaw and there are tons of stitches in the mouth..so might take some time to heal.
I am not a quitter ..just take my time and see how it goes...
glad that I have my bullies and pugs.
Truly Bella is the best for being a nurse. she will not even leave me alone for a second.
they do not want me in bed for the rest of the day today ...for fear of the teeth bleeding more and such..so might as well type..lol that is how I see it anyhow. NOT any big amount of talking going on..signing the dogs..works at least.
thanks for your support

it sounds painful, I'm glad your son and Bella are there to help you. Rest and relax and we'll talk to you when you're feeling better. (((hugs)))
