Five years have passed, yet it seems like only yesterday...
I remember the eerie silence on that day,
staring in disbelief at the images on t.v.
The shock, the terror, the panic.
Was this possible? A reminder of the radio broadcast of
War of the Worlds, that's what this must be.
But after changing from channel to channel,
the reality set in. Minutes turned to hours, hours turned to days.
We learned a lot about America in that time.
We can & will pull together when the need Adminses.
There are heroes walking amongst us,
although they are disguised as ordinary people.
I remember the tears I cried,
the hours I spent in prayer,
the drive to pick up my kids from school just so that I
could hug & kiss them.
No, we will never forget!
Never forget that we are vunerable!
Never forget that we are strong!
Never forget that we should live for each moment!
Never forget the innocent victims of terror!
Never forget the men, women & children who lost loved ones!
Never forget the rescue workers who laid down their lives!
Never forget that a few ordinary people can do extraordinary
things...both terrible & tremendous.
Never forget to have pride in our country!
Never forget that each & every one of us is an American!
Yes, five years have passed since that fateful day...but let not time erase the memory of the victims of 9/11 for that would be another tragedy. Keep them in your hearts & their loved ones in your prayers for always!
