Buying a new puppy a few ?s

Hi, my name is Adminanna and I am in the process of purchasing a bulldog puppy. I have picked out 2 and am trying to narrow the choice down.

I want a male so that is one decison made. Both dogs have wonderful personalities, get along with the kids and my other dog so that is not an issue. Both come with limited registration. My question is basically all things being equal how do you choose? Any guidelines I need to know? Both puppies are 11 weeks old. One is more wrinkly than the other and one has a longer nose, not as smushed in. I was told that the longer nosed dog probably would have fewer breathing problems.

Like I said, basically all things are equal. Personality, sex, coloring, etc. I was impressed with both breeders.

Guys, help me narrow down the choice. I am ready to go eeny, meeny, miney , mo!

Thanks!

a few things

if both pups are from reputable breeders, they are both males and you like them both, there are a few things you could consider.

Which breeder do you like better and feel will be there to help and answer questions, which one lives closer?

A few things that could help in the long run since the breed does require many things to keep them healthy and irritation free. what color are their nails? White are a zillion times easier to dremel or cut. How are their tails? Straight will be easier to keep clean underneath. Nose rope/facial folds - Very large nose ropes can be problems so constant cleaning underneath is a must. Check the nares (nostrils) - is there nice thick streams of air coming out?

Longer nose - personally I don't really think that matters as far as looks, unless the longer nose pup is gonna look like a boxer (that's not good). And just because the pup is a little nosey does not mean his breathing is going to be better.

Also, make sure you get the name of the bulldog vet they use. And, if their ears haven't started to rose, have the breeder glue them and show you how in case you need to reglue.

Looking forward to seeing the pup you choose.

Nosey is okay for a pet quality

I just meant its what you like, do you like the nosey look or the wrinkly look. It sounds like the only difference you noticed between the two of them. The nosey one will not get more wrinkles. Wish I had pictures of one of my girls from a litter I had, she was nosey and has stayed that way, she's not bad looking its just not my preference, so its all according to what you and your family like.

You probably need to see them again and really think about it.

Good luck.

Re: I understand that

Nosey is no good. So I should go with the wrinkly?

He is just going to be a pet so standard is not an issue.

Just thinking out loud. Nosey vs wrinkly? Will the nosey one get wrinkly?

Sorry for rambling .. sometine it helps to talk out loud,.

Thanks for listening!

I understand that

Well both sound good, its definitely going to be a hard decision and yep pretty much comes down to eeny meenie. Which look do you love the most, the wrinkly or the one that's nosey?

Annise

We cant buy both right now,, Need I tell you the cost involved,,

both offer 1 year guarantee.

Guess I am down to eeny, meeny (LOL)

Thanks for answering. The breeders will not let me

take pictures for various reasons----dont want then circulating on the internet etc.

Both offer 1 year guarantees. I would love to take both of them but financally that is difficult now.

Guess I am down to eeny, meeny.. (LOL)

Does this mean both is not an option.??? LOL

That's a tough one...all things equal, then it goes down to the one that connected with your heart the most. Good Luck! Can't wait to see pictures of your little guy.

Even in beauty, there is chaos!

Cody & the Gang

That's a hard one especially when its a pet

Its a matter of personal choice at this point and which breeder offers the best health guarantee. Do you have pictures of the two pups you're having trouble picking? That might help.
