If so, try using bottled/filtered water. Seems a bit extreme to give drugs to a dog just for staining. We humans are too quick to give our dogs antibiotics/drugs/medications with little to no regard for the short term or long term effects it may have on our dogs immune systems.

Entropion or distichia are often causes of tear staining. We have a girl with a few random lashes on one eye...and that is the eye that is prone to the tear stains.

Tylan, being an antibiotic, when given as a regimen, will cause the body to build up resistance to the benefits of antibiotics in general. Therefore I would say never. Tear stains can be managed in various other ways, diet, purified water, environmental stressors, can all produce tear stains. We have used Oxywash Daily Facewash, and had satisfactory results.
Perserverance isn't a long race. It's a series of short races, ran one after the other.

tylan is in Angel Eyes. Much cheaper to just buy tylan. I haven't used tylan on young dogs but I've been told it is safe. Tetracycline cannot be used on a dog younger than 6 months though cause it will make their teeth yellow.

Is it from the water he is drinking?

I would try the bottled/filtered water.

Just my opinion
