Weak Pastern

Layla has a weak pastern and I just started her on the Sure grow supplements . Is there anything else I can do to help it get stronger ? Does anyone have any experience with these supplements ?

also .... yesterday she was playing pretty hard with her 1/2 sister pup and after about 20-30 minutes her pastern was so weak she was walking on the side of her foot ! and her paw pad was coming up between her toes sad.gif I am really worried about this sad.gif After she rested , and this morning she is walking fine . Pastern is not totally strong , but 100% better than after her play session yesterday . any ideas ?? should we see a vet ?

Feeding with elevated bowls

I remember reading that somewhere - it forces them to stand up tall.

I'm not sure about her walking on the side of her foot - If it were me I'd give her some time in case she just pulled something. But definitely keep her quiet for now.

Ester C

I'd try Ester C and see if that helps. Does she get daily walks? If not you might want to start a simple and short exercise program to strengthen her over all. Walking hills is good, but I would keep it pretty short with very gradual hills to begin.

Could you post a picture of this? I would like to see if it is similar to what one of my puppies went through.
