Today my 5 month cooper woke up with one of his third eyelids exposed. By the time I went to work It appeared almost normal. I had written a few days ago after noticing his other eye had the same thing happen while we were playing so then I had assumed maybe something had gotten into it. As a first time bulldog owner I was wondering if this happens alot? Should I have my vet look at him. His other eye eventually was normal no irritation noticed. Is this a sign of dry eye? Or the early signs of cherry eye?? Thanks for your insight. I am still trying to figure out how to post photos but I am working on it!!!!
His eye may have been a little "dry" but not what I would term "
and in these cases, I think putting 1-2 drops of artificial tears will solve the problem. It can be from a slight allergic reaction, dry warm windy day, even sleeping with his eye not fully closed, etc. As long as it happens occasionally and he doesn't seem bothered by anything in the eye (isn't rubbing or squinting) I'd save my $$ and only mention it to the vet when I needed to go for another reason.
